Shoebridge elected Greens leader in 7-4 vote

NSW senator David Shoebridge is the new Greens leader. He beat Mehreen Faruqi seven votes to four in Wednesday's party-room ballot — a vote of Greens MPs and senators — after Sarah Hanson-Young was knocked out with two. He replaces Larissa Waters, who quit on health grounds, alongside deputy Steph Hodgins-May. No hiding from those numbers.
