Burnham Opens Door to Closer EU Ties Beyond Red Lines

Prime Minister Andy Burnham told Labour's conference in Liverpool, in his first speech as prime minister, the party could move past its manifesto red lines to consider a customs union (shared tariffs), the single market (common trading rules), or even rejoining the EU. Any path would require negotiation with Brussels and trade-offs at home over rules and money.
