Parliament to close on 1 October before 7 November election

Parliament will be dissolved — formally closed — on 1 October ahead of the 7 November general election, Prime Minister Christopher Luxon has announced. There will be no Parliament until after polling day. The Governor-General will sign the dissolution order on the prime minister's advice.
