NZ extends Operation Olympic Defender role to 2028

New Zealand will stay in the US-led Operation Olympic Defender for two more years to August 2028, the NZDF says. The role, first taken up in 2024, keeps one New Zealand officer at US Space Command in Colorado. The seven-country group combines members’ space systems — such as satellites — to keep space-based services safe and working.
