New Zealand extends Operation Olympic Defender commitment to August 2028

New Zealand has extended its role in the US-led Operation Olympic Defender for two years, to August 2028, the NZDF says. The commitment, first made in 2024, keeps a single NZ officer at US Space Command in Colorado. The seven-nation group coordinates members' space capabilities to keep access to space-based services secure and reliable.
