Mexico, U.S. sought two-country deal after Canada talks collapsed

Mexico and Washington worked toward a two-country trade deal ahead of the U.S. elections after talks including Canada broke down, Reuters reported Sept. 11. A Canadian official said Ottawa and Washington were still in contact, but were not holding formal trade negotiations.
