Supreme Court Restores State Access to Voter Citizenship Checks

On Sept. 25, the Supreme Court, at the Trump administration's request, paused a lower-court order that had limited state use of federal citizenship records to check voter rolls. States can again use the database before November's midterms. The administration says it prevents noncitizen voting; critics say eligible voters could be removed.
