France to Help Defend Saudi Oil Port of Yanbu

France will send troops, radar and defense systems to protect Yanbu, Saudi Arabia's key Red Sea oil-export port, President Emmanuel Macron said September 24. The pledge followed a ballistic-missile attack that day — long-range guided weapons — by Yemen's Iran-backed Houthis toward Yanbu, which Saudi forces say they intercepted.
