Poll: 64% back wealth tax on assets above $10m

64% of New Zealanders back a proposed 2.5% tax on wealth above $10 million, not counting family homes, the September 2026 Ipsos Issues Monitor found. RNZ reported the online survey of 1,003 people aged 18 and over ran 3-11 September, with a credibility interval — the likely margin of error — of plus or minus 3.5 points.
