64% support proposed wealth tax on assets above $10m

64% of New Zealanders support a proposed 2.5% wealth tax on assets above $10 million, excluding family homes, the September 2026 Ipsos Issues Monitor found. The online survey of 1,003 people aged 18 and over ran 3-11 September, with a credibility interval of plus or minus 3.5 points, according to RNZ.
