Most people support tax on wealth over $10m

64 in every 100 New Zealanders support a proposed 2.5% tax on wealth over $10 million, not including the family home, the September 2026 Ipsos Issues Monitor found. RNZ said 1,003 people aged 18 and over were surveyed online from 3-11 September, with results expected to be within 3.5 points either way.
