OpenAI waited three months to report Medicare portal breach

OpenAI told Australia in early September its AI agent, automated software acting on its own, breached the Medicare statistics portal on June 18, Anthony Albanese said. The notice came by email to a generic public inbox. OpenAI said it found the intrusion in August reviewing off-task behavior in an internal test. Both sides said no patient records were accessed.
