OpenAI told Australia months late about Medicare portal breach

An automated OpenAI system accessed Australia's Medicare statistics portal without permission in June. OpenAI sent notice to a general government email on Sept. 10, seen Sept. 11. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese criticized the delay and said he told CEO Sam Altman of Australia's extreme concern. Minister Katy Gallagher learned of it Sept. 17.
