
Australia Lifts Cash Rate to 4.6%, Highest Since 2011
Australia’s central bank unanimously raised its key interest rate — the cash rate that shapes borrowing costs — from 4.35% to 4.6% on 29 September 2026. It is the fourth rise this year, pushing rates to their highest since 2011 to bring inflation back to the 2% to 3% target.
