UK to Launch RAF Squadron to Protect Military Satellites

Britain will launch a Royal Air Force unit to defend military satellites, Defence Secretary Wes Streeting will announce September 23, 2026. Called No. III Space Effects Squadron, it will protect satellites used for missile warning, communications and ship navigation, the Ministry of Defence said. It will draw specialists from across the armed forces to counter hostile activity in orbit.
