UK to launch RAF squadron to defend military satellites

Defence Secretary Wes Streeting will announce No. III Space Effects Squadron on September 23, 2026. The Royal Air Force unit will defend satellites used for missile warning, communications and ship navigation, the Ministry of Defence said. It will draw specialists from across the armed forces to counter hostile activity in orbit.
