Trump Asks Supreme Court to Overturn Release of Georgetown Fellow Suri

The Trump administration wants the Supreme Court to undo the May 2025 release of Badar Khan Suri, a Georgetown fellow and Indian citizen detained by ICE outside his Virginia home in March 2025. The Justice Department says immigration law blocked the district judge who freed him from ordering release, in a dispute over which court controls detention.
