Trump Wants Highest Court to Put Georgetown Scholar Back in Detention

The Trump administration wants the Supreme Court, the nation's highest court, to undo the May 2025 release of Georgetown scholar Badar Khan Suri from India. ICE immigration officers arrested him outside his Virginia home in March 2025. The Justice Department says immigration law blocked the lower judge who freed him, in a fight over which court decides detention.
