Hacking case closed, then reopened

Jane had Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat hacked, with images taken from private messages. Police gave her an internet safety leaflet and closed the case. After hiring law firm Leigh Day, UK regulator Ofcom opened a formal investigation into the platforms and police reopened the criminal case, The Guardian reported 22 September 2026.
