Burnham to warn von der Leyen over EU manufacturing plan

Andy Burnham is expected to meet Ursula von der Leyen in New York on Tuesday, 22 September. He said the EU’s Made In Europe plan, giving EU firms priority for public orders to limit Chinese competition, risks “collateral damage” to British manufacturing. He will press for UK participation. The Industrial Accelerator Act behind it is yet to be finalised.
