Swift asks Los Angeles judge to dismiss Showgirl trademark case

Taylor Swift's lawyers have asked a Los Angeles federal judge to dismiss with prejudice Maren Wade's trademark lawsuit over 'The Life of a Showgirl'. The court replies call the claim 'meritless' and 'baseless'. A hearing is scheduled for early October. Wade, a former Las Vegas showgirl, sued in March seeking damages and a block on Swift's use of the branding.
