Kalanick's Atoms in Early Talks With Uber on Robotaxi Deployment
Travis Kalanick's robotics startup Atoms has held exploratory talks with Uber about deploying Atoms-built robotaxi technology inside Uber's ride-hailing network, the Financial Times reported September 6. Uber has invested $100 million in Atoms, which raised $1.7 billion led by Andreessen Horowitz and acquired Anthony Levandowski's autonomous mining startup Pronto. The discussions are exploratory, not product commitments.
