Boox Picco Ships With No Onboard Storage

Boox's Picco, a 3.97-inch e-paper reader launching at IFA 2026 in Berlin for about $100 in November, includes zero internal flash. Book storage depends entirely on a user-supplied microSD card. Most budget e-readers ship with at least some built-in storage; the Picco is non-functional without a card inserted, a notable trade-off in the emerging sub-4-inch category.
