Romania submits Palme d'Or winner 'Fjord' for Oscar race; Neon to campaign

Romania has selected Cristian Mungiu's Palme d'Or winner "Fjord" as its entry for the international feature film Oscar, per The Hollywood Reporter. Neon, which has guided previous Cannes winners to Oscar success, is backing the fall awards run. The 146-minute drama, starring Sebastian Stan and Renate Reinsve, is set for theatrical release on 19 August 2026.
