UEFA, Asia and Concacaf call for Infantino to resign over World Cup sell-off plan

European nations agreed in August to boycott FIFA competitions over Infantino's proposal to sell stakes in FIFA tournaments — including the World Cup — to private investors. The plan was aborted, but UEFA, the Asian confederation and Concacaf have all joined calls for him to step down. Nominations for the March 2027 FIFA election close on 18 November.
