Canada cuts U.S. out of Gordie Howe bridge celebration

Canada dropped a joint opening ceremony for the new $4.7-billion Gordie Howe International Bridge, holding a Canada-only event before the Windsor–Detroit crossing opens July 27. The decision follows a dispute over sharing toll money and President Trump's threat of 50-per-cent tariffs. Canada paid for the whole bridge; who controls the toll revenue remains unresolved.
