Carney drops some tariffs on U.S. goods but keeps others

Prime Minister Mark Carney will remove Canada's tariffs on American goods that follow the three-country trade deal covering Canada, the U.S. and Mexico. Tariffs stay on U.S. products that fall outside that deal. The change comes after the U.S. hit roughly $20 billion of Canadian goods with 50 per cent tariffs on July 20, 2026.
