Roadside Attractions and Saban Films' dark comedy 'Buddy' grossed an estimated $7.2 million over the four-day Labor Day weekend, reaching a $15.7 million cume, per Deadline. The Casper Kelly film, with Keegan-Michael Key voicing a tyrannical unicorn host, opened to $5.3 million on 1,258 screens — more than double the $2.5 million tracking projected, per IndieWire. Screen count rose 500 to 1,771 in week two.
