Police officer's 14-year string of rapes exposed after warnings were missed

PC Alan Greer, who died by suicide in May 2026, raped at least nine women over 14 years. He repeatedly opened his first victim's police file without anyone stopping him. A 2018 warning linking his phone number was ignored for seven years. A source called it "Police Scotland's Wayne Couzens moment." Assistant Chief Constable Lynn Ratcliff said Greer would not pass background checks today.
