Utah Charges Betting Platform Kalshi and Two Executives With 14 Crimes

Utah filed 14 criminal charges against Kalshi, a betting platform, and two executives: CEO Tarek Mansour and COO Luana Lopes Lara. Twelve charges accuse it of illegally promoting online gambling, one for each bet. Thirteen of the 14 are felonies, or serious crimes. The Salt Lake Tribune reported the filing October 28, 2026. Kalshi called the charges a "crazy overreach."
