Utah Files 14 Criminal Charges Against Kalshi and Two Executives

Utah has filed 14 criminal charges against prediction market Kalshi, CEO Tarek Mansour and COO Luana Lopes Lara. Twelve counts allege illegally promoting online gambling, each tied to an individual bet. Thirteen of the 14 counts are felonies. The Salt Lake Tribune reported the filing on October 28, 2026. Kalshi called the charges a "crazy overreach."
