Alexa's New 3D Home Map Needs a Phone Room Scan

Setting up Amazon's new 3D Alexa Home Map means walking through every room holding an iPhone with a depth sensor that measures distances to walls. The process takes 15 to 20 minutes in an average home. Amazon is testing an alternative scanner that uses ordinary video on iOS and Android. Older flat Map View maps cannot be reused.
