Alexa's 3D Home Map Requires a LiDAR Room Scan

Setting up Amazon's new 3D Alexa Home Map means walking every room with an iPhone equipped with a LiDAR or structured-light depth sensor, a process taking 15 to 20 minutes in an average home. Amazon is testing a plain-video scanner for iOS and Android as an alternative. Existing 2D Map View maps cannot be reused.
