YouTube Hits Record Share of US TV Watching in August

YouTube drew a record 15.8 percent of all US television watching in August 2026, according to Nielsen's August report, published October 22. Its viewing rose 6 percent, keeping it in first place. Streaming overall fell 3.2 percent, and total TV watching fell 4.4 percent. Nielsen measures only TV screens, not phones or paid subscriptions.
