Ciena Expects Over $10 Billion in Unfilled Orders by Year-End

Ciena expects more than $10 billion in backlog, orders not yet counted as sales, by the end of its 2026 financial year, per a September 22, 2026 Lightwave report. That equals about six quarters of sales at third-quarter pace of $1.67 billion. Backlog is not guaranteed money: orders can be delayed or cancelled, and timing depends on customer deliveries.
