Sedgefield fined £6,500 after injured jockey taken to hospital in horsebox
Sedgefield Racecourse has been fined £6,500 after an injured jockey was taken to hospital in a horsebox instead of an ambulance. A British Horseracing Authority (BHA) panel found the March incident followed a fall that injured the jockey's collarbone and shoulder. A doctor later advised A&E. By then every ambulance crew had left. The course accepted its errors.
