MGM+ has greenlit "The Black Tapes," an eight-episode horror investigation series, according to Variety on 26 October 2026. "Greenlit" means approved for production. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau is attached to star as Dr. Richard Strand, meaning he has agreed to the lead role. Filming is due to begin in Vancouver in January. No broadcast date has been announced.
