Tesla Hit Parked Highway Patrol Cars While Driver Slept, Injuring Two Officers

Two Solano California Highway Patrol officers were seriously hurt and hospitalized Oct. 13, 2026 when a Tesla hit their parked patrol cars on Interstate 80. The 22-year-old driver from Sacramento told officers he had fallen asleep with Tesla's Full Self-Driving feature turned on, which still needs a person watching. He had minor injuries.
