Tiny eye chip helps patient see letters and words
Science Corporation placed its light-powered 2x2mm PRIMA chip under the retina of a first patient with Stargardt disease in May at Sydney Eye Hospital. CEO Max Hodak said the patient saw a letter in the first rehab session and read a word in the second. Camera glasses send invisible light to the chip, doing the job of damaged vision cells.
