Science Corporation implants PRIMA vision chip in first Stargardt patient
Science Corporation implanted its 2x2mm PRIMA subretinal photovoltaic chip in a first Stargardt disease patient in May at Sydney Eye Hospital. CEO Max Hodak said the patient saw a letter in the first rehab session and read a word in the second. The system uses camera glasses projecting near-infrared to act as artificial photoreceptors.
