Northland school changes how it is run

Pakaraka School in Northland is the first normal public school to become a charter school, Associate Education Minister David Seymour announced. It still gets public money but is run separately. Parents from the school now run it through a charity, the Society of Holistic Learners, RNZ reported on 12 October 2026.
