
National would keep students in school longer if re-elected
National would keep students in secondary school until they finish Year 11 if re-elected, education spokesperson Erica Stanford said on 10 October. At present students can leave at 16, often during Year 11. They would have to finish Year 11 English, maths and science, unless leaving for a job or training.
