Aurora Reaches Devon, Hampshire and Kent, Beyond Usual Range

The Northern Lights lit skies across the UK on 9 and 10 October, seen as far south as Devon, Hampshire and Kent. The aurora borealis — charged solar particles glowing in the atmosphere — normally appears over Scotland and northern England, the Met Office's usual southern limit.
