Party Money Spokesman Quits to Push Out Leader

Charlie Maynard, the money spokesman for Britain's Liberal Democrats party and elected lawmaker for Witney, quit on 9 October 2026 to try to push out leader Ed Davey. The Guardian reports months of frustration that voters were not hearing the party's message. Deputy leader Daisy Cooper said the vast majority still back Davey.
