Hurricane Isaias Shuts Oil Work, Could Raise Gas Prices

Hurricane Isaias has closed Gulf oil sites and forced workers out, threatening almost all U.S. oil pumped under the sea. About 2.7 million barrels a day — 14% of U.S. gasoline-making capacity — is in its way, CNN reported Oct. 8. The Hurricane Center on Oct. 9 expects landfall tonight or early Saturday. Longer shutdowns could raise pump prices.
