
Canada agrees with U.S. and China
Canada joined a U.S.-led promise by G20 trade ministers to fight governments paying to make too many electric cars, batteries and solar panels. Ottawa keeps its 100 per cent 2024 tax on Chinese-made electric cars, even as a first deal with Beijing cuts those car taxes and canola taxes. Ottawa must explain both together.
