
Spain to hold early vote after housing plans rejected
Spain’s prime minister Pedro Sánchez called an early national vote for Nov. 29 after lawmakers rejected two emergency plans for affordable housing. The plans would keep leases in place until 2028, stop forced move-outs until 2030, and block big investors seeking quick profit from housing. Sánchez said homes should not be treated as just another object to speculate with.
