Spain calls Nov. 29 early election after housing decrees fail

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez called an early election for Nov. 29 after Congress rejected two emergency affordable-housing decrees. The package would extend rental contracts to 2028, ban evictions until 2030, and bar vulture funds — large speculative investors — from housing. Sánchez said it stood against those treating housing as just another object for speculation.
