Sánchez calls Nov. 29 snap election after housing decrees fail

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez has called a snap election for Nov. 29 after Congress rejected two emergency affordable-housing decrees. The package proposed rolling over rental contracts until 2028, banning evictions until 2030 and barring so-called vulture funds from housing. Sánchez said it legislated "against those who consider housing just another object on the market with which to speculate".
