
U.S. borrowing costs hit 24-year highs
U.S. 10- and 30-year Treasury yields — the yearly payout the government pays to borrow — hit fresh 24-year highs on Oct. 7, Reuters reported, as investors sold government debt. Higher yields usually make mortgages and business loans pricier. I doubt the flat day for stocks means investors have fully faced that drag.
